Shared trips: a seat in a booked car
Some guests let others join the car they booked. Take a free seat and pay a third of the car price a person, not the whole car.
Trips with free seats
Other guests booked and paid for each trip below, and agreed that others may join. A seat costs a third of the car price, and the board shows it for each person. Your driver confirms your place, then you pay by a secure Revolut link. The trip runs whatever happens.
Everyone meets at the pickup of the guests who booked, in the area shown. The exact meeting point comes in the evening message, by 20:00 the day before. Once everyone has paid, each group learns the other's first names, and nothing more.
Questions about shared trips
How much does a seat cost?
A third of the car price for the trip, rounded up to the euro, for each person. The board shows the amount. It includes what the trip includes: fuel, parking and child seats.
I booked a car. Can others join it?
For the sunrise at Pico do Arieiro, the PR1 transfer, the west and east island days and the cruise days, yes: tick “Other guests may join this car” on the request form, or tell our assistant. You pay the car price as usual, and the trip runs whatever happens. If others join, part of your payment comes back to you on the day of the trip, so your group pays its share of the car.
Where do we meet?
At the pickup of the guests who booked the car, in the area the board shows. The exact point comes in the evening message, by 20:00 the day before, with the car's plate and your driver's photo.
How long does the car wait?
On a shared trip we wait up to 20 minutes for each group once the other guests are aboard. Then the trip goes on with the guests who are there.
What do we learn about each other?
Nothing until everyone has paid. Then each group learns the other's first names, and nothing more.
